For anyone who needs to hear this: it takes about a year to really feel comfortable in a new job. No one knows everything right away. Give yourself grace, keep learning, and remember settling in takes time, not talent.

I’ve learned you have to be a little selfish at work. Not in a toxic way, just smart about it. Everything you do should build you: your skills, your value, your next step. Be a good teammate, but remember your company isn’t your family. Protect your own growth.

Today at work I completed a project I’ve been working on for a year. It’s a HUGE deal for me and i think it will lead to a raise. I’m super excited about it.

I get a lot of “great ideas” from leadership. Some good, some not so good. I’ve learned the hardest part of marketing isn’t coming up with ideas, it’s delivering results The real skill isn’t brainstorming; it’s making one thing actually work.

My boss keeps offering me a promotion, and I keep turning it down. I’m great at my job, but I’d be a terrible people manager. More money isn’t worth losing my sanity to meetings and politics. I’d rather stay good at what I do and stay sane.

Someone asked me today what made me successful? A mix of luck and preparation. I had the right skills when the opportunity came, but I’d built them long before. The real key was saying yes to the scary things, e.g. new roles, retraining and having intimidating conversations.

I like my job, but the hardest part is not seeing a logical path for growth. I have a degree and long-term goals, yet no clear way to make them reality. It’s frustrating to work hard without knowing what the next step could be.

Today I closed a deal my boss said was impossible. Still smiling.

Today I finally got recognised in front of the whole team for leading a project that nearly collapsed.

A question from a new coworker made me realize that I've been doing something quite inefficiently for a long time.
